Karina Heinrich is founder of Sculpted Soul and a board certified Nutritional and Holistic Health Counselor through the American Association of Drugless Practitioners (AADP). Karina received her education from Columbia University's Teachers College and The Institute of Integrative Nutrition in New York City. She studied under natural health luminaries such as Marion Nestle, David Wolfe, Andrew Weil, Joseph Mercola and Barry Sears. In addition to her studies in nutrition, she studied at Moksha Yoga in Chicago, Illinois where she became a Registered Yoga Instructor through the Yoga Alliance.
Prior to becoming a Holistic Health & Lifestyle Specialist, Karina worked in a variety of roles for firms specializing in private wealth and investment management. As her career progressed, so did her stress and health concerns. Seeking a solution to improve her health, she was frustrated by the limitations of traditional medicine, which continued to misdiagnose her stomach ailments as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
After many years of research, experimentation and self-awareness, she discovered that she suffered from Celiac Disease, an autoimmune intestinal disorder, found in individuals who are genetically susceptible. She also learned that she would have to maintain a strict dairy-free diet due to her severe casein sensitivity. Through self-care, nutrition and exercise, she was able to mitigate the symptoms of her celiac condition and find health and balance in her life.
While wrestling her own health issues and providing nutritional advice to friends and colleagues, Karina found a passion for helping others find renewed health and wellness. She founded Sculpted Soul, LLC early in 2006 and has been dedicated to helping clients achieve their health and wellness goals. Through personal experience and formal education, Karina has developed a particular expertise in working with clients who can achieve dramatic health improvements by adopting a gluten-free diet and lifestyle. Karina is particularly passionate about helping individuals with Autism and those battling stomach and digestive ailments including IBS, Celiac Disease and Casein allergies.
Karina has Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and currently lives with her husband in Chicago, IL.
